Volunteer at −TOPIA
Join the team that makes −TOPIA happen. In exchange for one shift, you'll have free entry and a front-row seat to the weirdest, most wonderful weekend of the year.

Lex Barlin — Volunteer Coordinator
We are looking to build a team at −TOPIA of friendly and reliable individuals who are capable of looking after themselves and others. If this sounds like you — it's more than likely that you'll be selected! There's a few things that an applicant MUST be for their application to be successful, which includes being over 18 at the time gates open.
As a volunteer at −TOPIA festival, you are required to complete one shift in return for free access to the festival. Shifts are allocated across the 2 days prior to the festival (bump-in), the festival day, and the day after the festival (bump-out).
If you are allocated a shift during bump-in or bump-out, you will be required to complete 6 hours of work. These shifts include a 30-minute meal break (a meal will be provided for you per any dietary requirements you specified in your application form).
Shifts on festival day are around 4 hours long, and it is expected that you complete these hours without taking a prolonged break (a 5-minute smoko is totally fine) (unlike bump-in/out, you will not be provided a meal).
Confirmation of shifts will be sent out via email roughly 2 weeks prior. However you will be contacted to confirm your selection and availability as soon as possible after your application has been submitted.
No you are not required to purchase a ticket if you are accepted as a volunteer for −TOPIA, however — if your shift falls on event day or if you are working after the festival (for bump-out) a deposit will be required as security. You will be fully refunded after the completion of your shift.
In order to be accepted to volunteer at TOPIA you are required to purchase a Volunteer Deposit ticket ($69). The full price of this deposit will be refunded to you shortly after the festival provided that you turn up for and complete your allocated shift. If you are no longer able to attend your shift for any reason and can let us know within a reasonable timeframe we can refund your deposit.
