Workshop: Soma Sketches
Join Maya and Jodi for a 45-minute journey of embodied exploration—a collaboration of breath, movement, charcoal, and canvas. Through guided somatic practices and creative expression, you’ll be invited to connect with your inner landscape and let it unfold through mark-making and movement.
Jodi will guide you through the mind-body connection and the movement intelligence of somatic practice, helping you to drop deeper into your felt, embodied sense. Maya will share her personal somatic creative process, inspiring and inviting collective creation. Together, this workshop weaves explorative painting with the body’s innate wisdom. In a safe, supportive space, you’ll move, feel, and create—tapping into self-awareness, authentic expression, and the rhythm of collective presence.
Facilitators: Maya Irving & Jodi Pullar
Maya Irving's works explore catharsis, beginning with intuitive call-and-response choreography that unlocks deep emotions trapped within the physical body. Resting on her belief that intuition holds intelligence beyond the conscious mind, Maya’s works are mapped out through movement, gesture and play. Maya has exhibited widely, including at ACMI, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Backwoods Gallery and Strawberry Fields Festival.
Sharing the healing power of somatic and embodied movement has become a lifelong passion for Jodi Pullar. Through Soma Practice, she holds a supportive and grounding space where you are invited to move in your own rhythm and pace. With over 20 years of experience in dance and Pilates, Jodi’s trauma-informed approach integrates care with curiosity with a focus on healing through movement.
